Hey, I’m Jan - a filmmaker and amateur film photographer working in Southern California.
I’ve always seen films as a vehicle to express my feelings. The euphoria I feel when capturing a subject, still or moving, digital or film, is what grounds me.
While simultaneously completing my double major in Business Administration and Economics at Mt. San Jacinto CC, I work full-time at my childhood church as their ministry videographer and production director. I share my navigation of life with my lovely girlfriend, and you can find the two of us in the gym, kitchen, or in the car driving.
My niche lies in commercial work and music videos. But to sustain my creativity, I direct and write my own shorts or experimental projects. I love meshing other mediums of art: dance, poetry, music, with film to explore the intricate worlds I ink into existence.
I recently picked up film photography in 2025 with the initial goal to remind myself to slow down, shoot something cool, smile, and walk away: a lifestyle I try to integrate in my daily life.
